Gallows - London Astoria
The greatest punk rock band to come out of Hertfordshire do the Astoria supported by Fucked Up and Anti-Flag.
The first thing that has to be said about a Gallows show is that the
crowd are amazing. Anti-Flag had the mass Moshing, Pogo'ing and pits all
over and this being an 'all-ages' gig, the kids were out to show
how it should be done. There was just something niggling about
Anti-Flag however...dare I say that if you shut your eyes, it could
have been an Avril Lavigne gig... pop/punk eat your heart out!

Menomena - Kings College SU
Ok, I know what you're thinking; 'Gigs at student unions don't really count'.. right? I say why not? Some bands excel at intimate venues and some rule the stadiums. Menomena definitely excelled in this student haven.
A 3 piece from Portland signed to indie label Barsuk, Menomena manage to mix up a good blend of experimental, rock, pop with a little electronica. These guys really put their all into it and the fusion gave a surprising amount of loved 'oooomph' to the crowd.
