Bloc Party Announce Talons Single

 

After the surprise online release of their latest album Intimacy last month, Bloc Party have announced details of new single Talons, scheduled for releas on Wichita Recordings on 20th October.

Talons, produced by Silent Alarm producer Paul Epworth, is not featured on the curent version of the album but will be included, along with other new songs, on the CD / vinyl versions released in October.  If you've already bought or pre-ordered the album, fear not, the single will be available to download for free!

Bloc Party frontman Kele said, “we wanted to keep things fresh and we thought the fans would be more excited to get a new song rather than something off the album. Talons is one of the last songs we recorded during the Intimacy sessions and I always had it in mind to be one of the extra tracks we promised for the CD if it turned out well.  It turned out great so we decided to make it the next single.  I’m enjoying this way of working, not over-thinking things, just make a decision and get on with it!  It’s quite liberating in a way, I’m sure it’s going to be the way things happen more and more in the future”.

Talons is out on 20th October on 2 x 7” and CD with remixes from The Moody Boyz, XXXChange, FrankMusik, Midfield General and Phones.
